About us

Discover handcrafted elegance and modern aesthetics at Home Trotter

Home Trotter was founded in 1982 in France by Arnaud Laederich, with a vision to offer furniture that merges simplicity, craftsmanship, and cultural richness. Influenced by Japanese aesthetics and colonial traditions, Arnaud’s designs reflect a deep appreciation for natural materials, clean lines, and timeless elegance.

In 2007, after years of sourcing pieces from Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and India, Arnaud set up a store in Pondicherry, India, to cater primarily to the French market. Over time, Home Trotter evolved into a space where global influences meet thoughtful design.

Our Promise

Blending Architecture with Artistry

In 2017, Arnaud partnered with Rituparna Mohanty, a seasoned architect from Bangalore with 20 years of experience in spatial planning and design. Her transition into furniture design brought a new dimension to Home Trotter—where every piece is crafted not just as an object, but as an extension of the space it inhabits. Her approach blends form and function, tailoring each creation to meet both practical needs and visual harmony.

Today, Home Trotter offers an eclectic mix of furniture—ranging from minimalist contemporary pieces to quirky, upcycled Chettinad designs infused with playful fabrics and vibrant colors. We embrace both tradition and innovation, working closely with artisans to bring character and creativity into every home.

Mission

To design and craft furniture that blends global inspiration with local craftsmanship, creating timeless pieces that are both functional and meaningful.

Vision

To become a leading name in bespoke furniture by celebrating cultural diversity, sustainable design, and the enduring value of thoughtful craftsmanship.
